Construction Logistics and Administration

During 2008 the Department of Buildings has proactively conducted special inspections through Forensic Investigations Unit (FIU), Building Enforcement Safety Team (BEST Squad) issuing Stop Work Orders for failure to ensure life safety, protection to property and compliance with applicable zoning and building code provisions. CODEWORX believes that this is in part due to a lack of continuing education by the general contractor and their sub-contractors.

Whether you are a one and two family home or a high rise hotel in midtown Manhattan construction logistics and site safety is mandatory and will save you time and money minimizing delays through Stop Work Orders and Insurance Claims.

CODEWORX can:
bullet

Conduct site safety audits making recommendations establishing protocols prior to construction activities.

bullet

Conduct audits of the accepted / approved plans and permits to ensure all proper documents are in order advising any additional required documents to carry out the construction.

bullet

Conduct and document preliminary inspections prior to construction operations.

bullet

Coordinate notifications to the governing jurisdictions maintaining logs.

bullet

Coordinate controlled inspections and special inspections on site.

bullet

Create and amend as required a site safety plan including means and methods which can be used when meeting with BEST and will satisfy O.C.M.C. requirements.

bullet

Coordinate and meet with the Forensic Investigations Unit (FIU), Building Enforcement Safety Team (BEST Squad), and Department of Buildings Inspectors in the field to remedy Stop Work Orders.

development and ZONING FEASIBILITY studies

CODEWORX can assist the developer and architect in evaluating property based on underling and applicable zoning offering solutions that will maximize the properties potential through establishing use, permitted bulk, setbacks, height restrictions and other applicable requirements. Our studies can be incorporated  into the filing documents that are being filed with the governing agencies.

BUILDING CODE COMPLIANCE STUDIES

CODEWORX can assist in reviewing and evaluating contract documents based on applicable building codes, rules, regulations, local laws and technical policies and procedures. CODEWORX can research and prepare alternative arguments through the pre-consideration and reconsideration processes using the 1938, 1968 and 2008 Building Codes. We can conduct a walk through inspections, research and investigate available municipal records and prepare a report of valuable information.

Municipal Filing Services

CODEWORX will assist in reviewing the contract documents, coordinate and prepare all required municipal applications, representing the filing at the governing agencies through examination, approval, permits, inspections and sign-offs / certificate of occupancy.
